Doncaster homeless charity welcomes support from Amazon

09 April, 2021

A charity that supports young people at risk of homelessness received £1,000 from the Amazon fulfilment centre team at Doncaster iPort.

Doncaster Housing for Young People supports people aged 16-25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or inadequately housed. The charity provides a range of services, including support finding accommodation, wellbeing activities, supported lodgings and employment skills workshops to help young people reach their full potential.

The donation will go towards the charity’s client hardship fund which supports clients in crisis with things such as food parcels, identification, travel costs, clothing and toiletries.

At Amazon, we are passionate about helping young people reach their full potential and we are happy to support Doncaster Housing for Young People with this donation. We hope it helps the charity to continue supporting our community.

On behalf of everyone here at Doncaster Housing for Young People, I would like to thank Amazon for this donation. We care greatly about the young people in our community and with such donations, we can continue to provide the support to get them on the right track.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than three and a half million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
