Job Purpose

Provide leadership and direction for all staff on shift within the iPort Rail Terminal.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient working of iPort Rail Terminal facility.
  • Maintain shift reporting log and provide customer updates as necessary: Collate all relevant performance data.
  • Provide overall supervision for Truck and Train working and ensure the correct prioritization of staff and resources.
  • Responsible for on site safety for staff and contractors on a shift basis.
  • Maintain handover between shifts.
  • Responsible for Radio & IT Communications.

 

Qualifications

  • Education – GCSE English & Mathematics minimum
  • Specialized knowledge – Experience of working in a Rail freight or logistics terminal preferable.
  • Skills – Good communicator – Self Motivating – Team player – Leadership skills
  • Abilities – To work alone and/or in team environment
  • PTS – Rail safety/Shunting Certification preferable
  • Must possess a clean UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of FARGO systems software CYMAN & TOPS desirable

 

Working Conditions

24/7 Shift working including BH and Weekends – Indoors and Outdoors
